I'm not a super big fan of the Metro games or anything (which I assume are a lot of people here), but I liked the first two games so I'm excited for the third one. I have replayed neither of them, but I usually never replay games anyway. Because the flow of the game did not seem to be hindered by fighting off waves of enemies, but gameplay felt more complimenting to the story. The story of the game was still great, and I liked the portrayal/involvement of both the Nazi and Commie factions in the game.įor this reason I prefer 2033 over Last Light. Something I felt did not compliment the story, or atleast the pacing of it. But the game did seem to focus more on gameplay this time around, what I remember mostly is that there were segments where you just had to fight off waves of monters. Last Light in the beginning felt very good as well, since it seemed like they tried to build upon 2033, playing it felt more smooth and finetuned so to say. I found the gameplay fitting to the story, and the pacing was really good, I liked it up to the very end and was excited to jump into the next game after that. I played 2033 first since I wanted to play in a chronological order, I liked the linearity of the game and I remember the first choice in the game where you could give one bullet to the kid or keep it for yourself (I choose the latter, I thought it might save me later on). I got around to playing them when they were 'free with Gold', and I hadn't much knowledge about the series outside that it was a story-based shooter set in a post-apocalyptic Russia. Personally for me I played them in the chronological order, specifically on the 360, so not the Redux versions. Plus, “quick weaves or glue weaves” have been a well-known Black woman beauty secret for decades.Īll of these facts would seem to support the idea that Gorilla Glue probably should have foreseen that someone might try the product on their hair.Īnother major question might be whether the warning to avoid using the adhesive on skin already covers the use of the adhesive on hair, as the consumer might also reasonably foresee that glue on hair meant glue on the scalp. Brown’s preferred product is also marketed as “hair glue.” Plus, there is evidence to suggest Gorilla Glue leveraged the confusion between the two products to broaden its audience through pay-per-click advertising. Gorilla Glue’s labeling is orange and yellow. The gel even has yellow and orange labeling. While Gorilla Glue does not make the gel ( Midway Importing sells it here in the US, it’s a Mexican brand) the presence of that gel could prompt someone to foresee a mixup. So a major question at issue will be: could anyone have reasonably foreseen that someone might try to use Gorilla Glue Spray Adhesive on their hair? A plaintiff’s lawyer might argue that they absolutely could, as there is a product on the market called Gorilla Snot Gel. In New York, manufacturers also have a duty to warn of the danger of unintended uses of a product, provided those uses are reasonably foreseeable. In fact, product labeling and warnings are meant to help guard consumers against the kinds of lapses in judgment that Brown showed. In fact, the state of Louisiana, where the case will be tried, does state that manufacturers can be held liable for damages caused by a “reasonably anticipated use of the product.” Yes, this could be because nobody at the company ever thought for one moment that someone might deliberately spray superglue into their hair, but the company’s honest lack of foresight may not be able to save them if the courts find they knew or should have known that someone might make the attempt. While you may think it’s common sense that nobody ought to spray super glue into their hair, the facts of the case show that the product labeling specifically warns against using the glue on eyes, skin, or clothing but does not mention hair. Despite the fact that the system is considered geocentric, neither of the circles were centered on the earth, rather each planet's motion was centered at a planet-specific point slightly away from the Earth called the eccentric. Both circles rotate eastward and are roughly parallel to the plane of the Sun's apparent orbit under those systems ( ecliptic). ![]() ![]() In both Hipparchian and Ptolemaic systems, the planets are assumed to move in a small circle called an epicycle, which in turn moves along a larger circle called a deferent (Ptolemy himself described the point but did not give it a name ). The basic elements of Ptolemaic astronomy, showing a planet on an epicycle (smaller dashed circle), a deferent (larger dashed circle), the eccentric (×) and an equant ( However, they fell out of favor with the discovery that planetary motions were largely elliptical from a heliocentric frame of reference, which led to the discovery that gravity obeying a simple inverse square law could better explain all planetary motions. It was developed by Apollonius of Perga and Hipparchus of Rhodes, who used it extensively, during the 2nd century BC, then formalized and extensively used by Ptolemy in his 2nd century AD astronomical treatise the Almagest.Įpicyclical motion is used in the Antikythera mechanism, an ancient Greek astronomical device, for compensating for the elliptical orbit of the Moon, moving faster at perigee and slower at apogee than circular orbits would, using four gears, two of them engaged in an eccentric way that quite closely approximates Kepler's second law.Įpicycles worked very well and were highly accurate, because, as Fourier analysis later showed, any smooth curve can be approximated to arbitrary accuracy with a sufficient number of epicycles. It was first proposed by Apollonius of Perga at the end of the 3rd century BC. Secondarily, it also explained changes in the apparent distances of the planets from the Earth. In particular it explained the apparent retrograde motion of the five planets known at the time. In the Hipparchian, Ptolemaic, and Copernican systems of astronomy, the epicycle (from Ancient Greek ἐπίκυκλος ( epíkuklos) 'upon the circle', meaning "circle moving on another circle") was a geometric model used to explain the variations in speed and direction of the apparent motion of the Moon, Sun, and planets. The path-line is the combined motion of the planet's orbit (deferent) around Earth and within the orbit itself (epicycle). Overall, however, his new concept seemed to provide an ultimate demonstration of the perfect harmony of the cosmos, with six planets all continuously revolving in the same direction around the Sun.The epicycles of the planets in orbit around Earth (Earth at the center). He was thus forced to adopt intricate combinations of circles, which made his system technically no less complex than the Ptolemaic system. He also remained faithful to the axiom of the circularity and uniformity of celestial motions. Like his predecessors, Copernicus believed that the planets were embedded in solid crystal spheres. The combination of the two motions generated the celestial body's apparent retrogression. In the Copernican system, instead, both motions are centered on the Sun, but only one is performed by the planet itself the other is the revolution of the Earth. For the ancients, who assumed the Earth to be immobile, each planet moved on a circle called the epicycle, whose center, in turn, moved around the Earth on a larger circle known as the deferent. In fact, it is caused by the Earth's rotation in the opposite direction also apparent is the Sun's annual travel along the ecliptic, actually due to terrestrial rotation the retrograde movement of the planets is apparent as well. The Earth is thus no longer a fixed hub, but revolves around the Sun in one year and on its own axis in twenty-four hours.įor Copernicus, the motion of the heavenly bodies from east to west in the course of a day is only apparent. In the Copernican system, the Sun is immobile at the center of the universe and the planets-including the Earth-rotate around it. He described it in his epoch-making work, De Revolutionibus orbium coelestium. Taking up the hypothesis formulated by Aristarchos of Samos in the third century B.C.E., Nicolaus Copernicus developed the heliocentric theory of celestial motion. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Clutching Feathers – Defense against someone grabbing your hair.Circling Wing – Defense against a rear grab.Alternating Maces – Defense against a two-hand push or choke.Flashing Wings – Defense against a straight punch.Five Swords – Defense against a roundhouse or hook punch. Some techniques of American Kenpo includes: He is, however, rightly credited for making Kenpo popular in the US and even in the movie industry. The use of symbols is another key difference between Kenpo and Karate. Kata is a very important aspect of Karate whereas Kenpo does not use kata’s and instead has its own forms. However, there are some major differences also. Both the art forms use a combination of hard and soft techniques and have similar attack and defense techniques. The origin of Kenpo and Karate are quite similar as they both developed because of the exchange between Chinese and Japanese martial arts. Hence, a widely accepted interpretation of the word Kenpo is the ‘fist method’ or ‘fist law’. The word ‘kenpo’ also translates to ‘ken’ meaning fist and ‘po’ meaning a method or law. Due to the widespread and cross-cultural adoption of this art form, many divergent word meanings and definitions of it have emerged. The word ‘kenpo’ is a Japanese translation of the Chinese word ‘quanfa’ which is informally translated as ‘kempo’. Parker combined this method with other martial art techniques and opened the first commercial Karate studio in 1954. Parker became his student at the age of 16. He opened his own school in 1949 where Edmund K. Chow is responsible for Americanizing the art form. It was from there the 5 major influencers of Kenpo emerged, namely, After finishing his training in Japan, Mitose returned to Hawaii and opened a self-defense club in Honolulu called ‘Official Self-Defense’. They brought the knowledge of Kenpo from China to Kyushu in Japan. Kosho-Ryu Kenpo was introduced by two families in the 17 th century called Kumamoto and Nagasaki. In 1916, a young five-year-old boy, James Mitose was sent to Kyushu, Japan from Hawaii to learn his ancestor’s self-defense art form called Koshu-Ryu Kenpo. When used, the action zooms in around that officer, and the player enters a short, timed mini-battle against troops from an enemy unit. Battle commences when friendly and enemy units encounter one another and unit health is measured by the number of troops remaining in the unit. During the battle itself, the player is in control of an individual unit and can switch between friendly units at any time, while the other units are controlled by artificial intelligence. After being briefed on the mission's details, the player then selects which units to bring into the battle before issuing basic marching orders. The flow of the game begins with the player selecting a mission from those available on the map. Kessen III refines the mechanics of the previous games even further while introducing new core elements. There is a certain level of inaccuracy, due not only to the fantasy element, but also due to the appearance of Miyamoto Musashi, who had not yet been born when Nobunaga committed seppuku. The game also allows battles against other notable daimyōs, such as Uesugi Kenshin and Takeda Shingen. His unlikely charisma inspires his troops after he is wrongly told of Nobunaga's death, which leads his friend to comment, "Maybe he would be the one to unite Japan, if Lord Oda was dead." Toyotomi Hideyoshi is also shown, under the name of Hideyoshi Hashiba. Tokugawa Ieyasu is in this game, presented as Nobunaga's mild-mannered and dedicated ally, but is shown flying into a rage when he learns that Nobunaga survives his betrayal, believing that he was going to carry out Nobunaga's destiny. It describes Nobunaga regaining his power base, and then defeating shogunate forces led by the Akechi Clan and other clans of Western Japan on the shores of Kyūshū, with Nobunaga presumably becoming the new leader. The game paints a positive picture on Nobunaga's life, and then enters a "what if" scenario showing what might have happened if he had survived the betrayal by Akechi Mitsuhide. For example, the existence of the Ashikaga shogunate and Nobunaga's relationship is covered herein but completely omitted from the Samurai Warriors games. It is a heavily fantasized and romanticized depiction of his life, although unlike games such as the Samurai Warriors series it goes into more specific historical details. Contrary to many stories and portrayals that depict him as a villain or demon, Nobunaga is depicted in a more virtuous and ultimately tragic light, making Kessen III rather unusual in relation to other video games based in the same era. ![]() The game's time frame is roughly between the years 1550 to 1590. If you’ve ever owned a remote control for your television or any other device that uses batteries and requires C-sized cells, then these are probably the most common type of battery in use today. In addition to being widely available at low costs, these batteries tend to have longer lifespans than other sizes since AA and AAA cells drain much quicker due to their smaller shapes. The C-size battery is a popular type that can be found in almost any store and is mostly sold in packs. These dry cell batteries are commonly used in portable devices. What is the difference between C4 and C batteries?Ĭ batteries, often known as “dry cell” batteries, are a typical kind of battery.
